Overview of First Aid & CPR techniques with scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry for individuals who need a basic training level in First Aid & CPR for the marine industry.

The course develops skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, CPR Level A, and other topics including choking, airway and breathing emergencies and prevention of disease transmission.

A minimum mark of 75% is needed on the written closed book exam and successful completion of two evaluated scenarios (one medical and one trauma) as well as 100% attendance and participation of the course.

A 3-year Certificate is issued by Red Cross upon successful completion.

A 5-year Transport Canada certification is issued by Red Cross upon successful completion.

The Canadian Red Cross requires participants be a minimum of 16 years of age to enroll for this course

Description

PAYMENT & REFUND POLICY:
1) Payment is due upon registration. Cancellations must be received by ABCB First Aid & Safety Training two full business days prior to the start of the course to receive a refund of the course fee paid. A full refund is dependent on the student returning any textbooks which are received in a usable/saleable condition, otherwise, a deduction will be made for textbooks.


2) For cancellations received less than two business days prior to the start of the course, no refund will be issued. ABCB may, at its sole discretion, apply the course fee amount paid to a future course.


3) For courses canceled by ABCB for any reason, a full refund of all course fees will be made subject to the student returning the course textbook

4) Students have the option to purchase a textbook from us, or sign one out. In order to receive the certificate, all signed out textbooks must be returned to the front desk.
