Emergency First Aid with CPR C$115.00
Participants will learn and demonstrate all knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient assessments, interventions, and on-going care, including the transportation of a patient to a healthcare facility. Participants will be engaged in dynamic training techniques including video, media presentations, skills demonstrations, practice sessions, discussions and scenarios based on real-life situations. We recommend bringing your own Stethoscope, one will be provided for you if needed. Prerequisites Participant must have a valid Red Cross First Responder or OFA level 3 First Aid Ticket Completion

5-day course The Red Cross Instructor Development Program trains Instructors to apply an individualized approach focusing on injury prevention, learning styles and a variety of instructional techniques that consider the abilities, ages and needs of each candidate. Red Cross First Aid & CPR Instructors are trained to encourage each participant's personal rate of achievement, recognizing this will vary from one person to the next. 1. Evaluate Skills and Check Prerequisites Confirm prerequisites are met: you must be 18 years or older, have a valid participant certificate for the program you wish to teach 2. Fundamentals of Instruction Complete the Fundamentals of Instruction focused on the application of fundamentals. 3. Discipline-Specific Classroom Component Attend the First Aid & CPR discipline-specific component, which focuses on the specific skills of that program. 4. Teaching Experience Complete the Teaching Experience module component with the support of a Teaching Experience Supervisor. 5. Certification An electronic certification will be issued upon completion. Certified Instructors can teach Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid, Marine Basic First Aid, Emergency Child Care First Aid, Standard Child Care First Aid and CPR courses.
Red Cross First Aid & CPR Instructor Program$900.00
This 14-hour course equips learners in developing a personal understanding of the effects of stress, loss, trauma and grief on others, with an emphasis on self-care and personal protection. Learners will be introduced to the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model - a resiliency-building approach to psychological wellness that teaches learners how to support themselves and others to cope with the effects of various types of stress. The course uses primarily case-based learning and includes the latest evidence from the international community. Successfully participate in 100% of the 14-hour in-class course will result in a 3-year certification in Psychological First Aid. There is no evaluation component for this classroom-based course.
